When you travel, you likely spend hours seated in the car or on an airplane, which can lead to stiffness in your muscles and joints.

Here are a few other ways you can prevent feeling sore by the time you reach your destination.

Traveling By Plane

  • Check your heavy bags.
  • Stand up straight before you sit down and feel the “S” curve of your spine. Fill in that curve with pillows or blankets when you sit back down.
  • Switch up your sitting position to improve circulation.
  • Massage your legs and calves periodically.

Traveling By Car

  • If possible sit with your knees slightly higher than your hips.
  • Use back support to reduce lower back strain and pain.
  • Loosen your grip on the steering wheel.
  • Take breaks to stretch.
  • Vary your focal point while keeping your eyes on the road.
  • Adjust your seat periodically.
